SeaProc introduces ShipApp 2: requisitions from on board
The new ship-side app lets crews raise, approve and follow requisitions from any device on the ship's network. It works offline and syncs with the office in kilobytes.
iMarine Software has introduced SeaProc ShipApp 2, a new ship-side application for requisitions. It runs on one PC on board, and the crew use it from any browser on the ship's network, on a PC, a tablet or a phone.
The crew raise requisitions by typing the lines, pasting them from Excel or picking them from the ship's parts catalogue. The Master or Chief Engineer approves them or returns them for changes, and approved requisitions go to the office with the next sync. Every line then shows its RFQ and purchase order status from the office, messages and files travel with the requisition they concern, and the crew record what actually arrived on board.
ShipApp works offline and was built for satellite links. It sends only what changed, compressed and signed; a check with nothing new takes about 0.6 KB each way. It syncs over the internet, through the ship's e-mail service, or with a file carried by any means when there is no link at all.
Requisitions from ShipApp arrive in the SeaProc buyer portal like any other requisition, and office messages and order status go back to the ship with the next sync. ShipApp runs on Windows 10, Windows 11 or Windows Server 2016 or later, with nothing else to install.
